As a civil law jurisdiction, the role of the Notary is quite different to common law jurisdictions (such as Australia, UK, US, Hong Kong, etc). In Indonesia, a Notary must first obtain a law degree (SH) and then obtain a post-graduate qualification (M.Kn). Only Notaries with government certification (PPAT) may legalize land and property transactions (land conveyancing).
We specialise in land matters and by virtue of our property expertise and fluency in written and spoken English, have extensively assisted foreign property investors in Bali.
We work entirely independently and are able to provide impartial advice regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the various legal structures employed by foreigners to secure the use of land in Bali.
